RED DEER STALKING ON FORDIE ESTATE

 

Stalking Season:

Stags – 1st July to 20th October

Hinds – 21st October – 15th February

 

Fordie has a good population of both red and roe deer. Trophies for both species are ‘representative’ and guests will be asked to shoot animals that are part of our cull rather than ‘trophy heads’   

Deer Stalking is a fascinating way to experience Scotland’s beautiful landscape, experiencing mountains, glens and forests as you search for deer.  Deer Stalking is an important part of land management on Fordie Estate, and contributes towards maintaining a strong, healthy population of deer.

Depending on the time of year, weather and your parties requirements Deer Stalking at Fordie can consist of a full days stalking out on the hill or dusk and dawn stalks which may involve stalking on foot and sitting in a high seat.

The estate have rifles available, if you are not a UK resident and wish to bring your own firearm you will need a Visitor Firearm Permits which can be arranged on your behalf by the Estate, at a cost of £75 plus VAT per licence, a minimum of 6 weeks prior to travel is required to process applications.

 

ROE STALKING IN SCOTLAND ON FORDIE ESTATE

Stalking Season:

Roe Buck – 1st April to 20th October

Roe Doe – 21st October – 31st March

 

We generally start stalking woodland bucks in early spring, thereafter we stalk the open hill where stalking is very exciting, but trophies tend to be smaller.

The estate have rifles available, if you are not a UK resident and wish to bring your own firearm you will need a Visitor Firearm Permits which can be arranged on your behalf by the Estate, at a cost of £75 plus VAT per licence, a minimum of 6 weeks prior to travel is required to process applications.
